Samoa and the United Nations: 50 Years of Partnership

When Samoa gained independence in 1962, the United Nations became a key partner in Samoa's development.  

Over the past five decades the UN has worked with the Government of Samoa alongside Samoa's other development partners, providing technical, normative and analytical expertise; funds; and organizational and coordination support to assist Samoans in efforts to attain their development aspirations and achieve the Millenium Development Goals.
