Poverty Reduction

  • Samoa MDGs Acceleration Initiative

    In anticipation of Samoa’s transition from Least Developed Country (LDC) to Middle Income Country (MIC) status by January 2014, and the need to identify and cultivate new streams of national revenue collection and pathways towards achieving the MDGs, the project will draw together all existing and planned strategic iniatives supported by UNDP in the areas of pro-poor policy advisory services, trade policy development and implementation; and increasing Parliamentarians focus on MDGs achievement.

  • TALAVOU-Samoa Joint Young People's Programme

    This Programme was developed by the Government of Samoa and the UN system based on the Samoa National Youth Policy and SDS 2002-04.

  • Private Sector Support Facility (PSSF)

    Improving both the growth and profitability of the private sector in Samoa is targeted by government and development partners in this project.

  • Youth Employment Programme

    The One-UN (Samoa) Youth Employment Programme (1UN-YEP) is responding to the request from the Government of Samoa to assist in its ongoing efforts to address youth unemployment.

Democratic Governance

  • Samoa Parliamentary Support Project

    The SPSP is implemented under the umbrella of the MDGs Acceleration Programme, with financial support of the Government of Samoa and AUSAID.

    This Initiation Plan Phase project seeks to begin the process of improving the transparency, accountability and efficiency of the public sector in Tokelau.

Women's Empowerment

  • Tokelau Community-Centered Sustainable Development (CCSDP)

    Implemented in the villages of Atafu, Fakaofo, Nukunofu and Taupulega villages, the CCSDP enables community members to organize collective action, by pooling resources and building solidarity towards resolving common problems and achieving a shared vision for community advancement.

  • Niue Community-Centered Sustainable Development (CCSDP)

    Implemented in the villages of Hakupu & Tuapa in Niue, the CCSDP enables community members to organize collective action, by pooling resources and building solidarity towards resolving common problems and achieving a shared vision for community advancement.

  • Transformational Leadership for Development Programme

    The Ministry of Women, Community and Social Development (MWCSD) together with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), will host three successive trainings on the Transformational Leadership Development Programme (TLDP) to address gender equality.

  • Increased Political Participation of Women in Samoa (IPPWS) UN Joint Programme

    Ahead of the 2016 general elections, the IPPWS project aims to increase community awareness of the importance of ensuring women are able to influence the national development processes through increasing their opportunities for political leadership amongst others.
