Niue took another step today on the way to achieving its climate and energy security goals, with the signing of an agreement on a new project that will focus on accelerating renewable energy and energy efficiency.
The new Resident Representative for the United Nations’ Development Programme (UNDP) Samoa multi-country office today presented his credentials to Samoa’s Prime Minister, thus signaling the official start of his term in Samoa.
With the aim to enhance leadership pathways for young women, for four days next week, 30 young women community leaders, 18- 35 years, from the districts of Anoamaa, in Samoa will be participating in a Training for Trainers (ToT) in Faleapuna.
The historic visit to Samoa by the Crown Prince of Norway included a stopover at the Vaisigano/Leone wall, which is part of the GEF-funded Economy-¬Wide Adaptation to Climate Change Project, as well as the Vaisigano Catchment Project, co-funded by the Green Climate Fund and the Government of Samoa, and supported by the United Nations Development Programme.
In keeping with its role as the integrator for the Sustainable Development Goals or SDGs, the United Nations Development Programme, UNDP in Samoa today launched localized banners for the SDGs, featuring local people and places in Samoa, Cook Islands, Niue and Tokelau.
Sport is increasingly being used as an effective tool to respond to the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in Samoa.
